Join the ISTC

How to join

There are three steps to joining the ISTC:

1) Choose a type of membership

There are several grades of membership available, to reflect your professional experience.

2) Tell us about yourself

Include a current CV giving details of your education, qualifications and experience.
Note that we may contact you and ask for further information to help assess your application.

3) Choose your payment option

You can pay the membership fees by cheque, set up a direct debit, or pay online.

Fees

The membership fees are as follows:

	Application Fee	£15
	Student concession (first year only) *	£22
	Other students	£33
	Junior	£65
	Member	£76
	Fellow	£76
	Retired **	50% of the full fee for the particular grade
	Associate	£65
	Business Affiliate	£275, £550, or £1100 (depending on grade of affiliation)

*Students must be on a recognised course in technical communications.
**Retirement age, 65, with supporting evidence.

Prospective member

A candidate for admission to the Institute whose application has been approved shall be a prospective member until such time as they become a member in accordance with Article 18 of the Articles of Association.

Remember that by applying for membership of the ISTC you agree to adhere to the Code of Professional Practice and other regulations of the Institute.
